The Westsyde Community Development Society (WCDS) was incorporated as a not-for-profit society under the Society Act in May 2001 by a group of Westsyde neighbourhood residents; "To enhance the positive development of the Westsyde community through initiatives, engagement and collaboration".  The society’s registered Constitution and Bylaws reflect these objectives.
The society’s executive, and its members, meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month, (ten months a year annually, excluding July and August) both to plan fundraising opportunities and to organize various events that enhance the live of residents in Westsyde.
We are a volunteer sustained group who over the years has become a resource for community concerns ranging from community policing to traffic flow.Being a volunteer group, we can always use some help.

The annual Spring Craft Fair and Garage Sale is coming up on Saturday, May 4th, at the Westsyde Fellowship Church. This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and we are looking for some volunteers for the following roles:

  • Coordinating games for children,
  • Face painting and tattooes,
  • Possibly one or two other positions.
